About Me

Technology has always amazed me. It's a wide open space where the only real constraint is how fast you can learn and how deeply you want to understand it.

My journey into software engineering didn't start in a lecture hall; I've always had an affinity for it. My most recent career placed me right in the middle fast-paced, high-pressure world of hospitality operations management. For a decade, I ran 4 different million-dollar stores, scaled teams of up to 30, and streamlined workflows. But my favorite parts of those days weren't just keeping things running; it was digging into the systems themselves. When we rolled out Toast POS at my last store, I wasn't just a manager filling out paperwork. I was diving into the backend, QA-testing the system, and mapping out the customer menu navigation tree to see exactly how business logic translates into functional software. When things broke down, I didn't back down. I analyzed issues, gathered information, constructed step-by-step plans, and executed on them. Plans changed as needed. I realized that leadership, operational management, and engineering all share the exact same core DNA: analyzing a complex system, finding the friction, and building a better solution.

When I decided to commit to software engineering, I let my passion be my guide. I treated my education and my projects like a demanding, full-time job. I spent long, intense hours mastering the core building blocks of the web (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Firebase) while teaching myself the structural mechanics of backend architecture using C#, ASP.NET, and SQL. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone to learn the things I had to know including data structures, algorithms, system design, and design patterns because I wanted to understand how to build software the right way, with clean separation of concerns and robust architecture.

I've never been content with only building for today. I didn't want to work this hard only to have the industry leave me behind. I kept my eyes firmly fixed on where the technical horizon was moving, and all signs pointed to Artificial Intelligence.

AI isn't just a trend; it is the present and the undisputed future of tech. As I watched the headlines evolve (massive build out of data centers, increased need for energy production, chip and memory shortages, etc.) I knew I wanted to do more than just be a consumer of AI. I wanted to build it. I wanted to see how far I could push things myself. I began experimenting with running large language models locally, optimizing settings, managing VRAM constraints via LM Studio, configuring the ROCm stack on my own AMD hardware, and building a hybrid online/offline coding assistant infrastructure directly into my development workflow.

My ultimate goal is to become an AI Engineer, working at the absolute cutting edge of this technology. But more importantly, I want to democratize it.

The true power of AI shouldn't belong only to massive corporations or elite research labs; it needs to be accessible, intuitive, and impactful for all kinds of people, regardless of their background. That is exactly why web technologies are so profound. The modern web is the ultimate equalizer. It bridges the gap between impossibly complex machine learning models running on high-end hardware and everyday users. Web development brings life changing, powerful applications to anyone with a simple device and an internet connection. This is what compelled me create an AI Resume builder Because of this unique blend of experiences, I bring something different to every project I join. I don't just bring code; I bring a decade of battle-tested management experience, a passion for rigorous problem-solving, an intense curiosity, and a grounded understanding of how software affects real business outcomes and real people. I know how to lead through ambiguity, how to communicate with an open hand instead of a closed fist, and how to keep a team focused on our shared goals. I am incredibly hopeful and incredibly optimistic about the impact future technologies will have on the human experience. We are standing on the precipice of a new era of human capability, and I invite you to get as excited about software engineering, web development, and AI as I am. There is so much waiting for us on the horizon, and I am ready to dive deeper, learn even more, and build what comes next. Let's create something meaningful together.
